Helpful Tips
- Pour at any temperature, just be sure the wax is below 160 degrees F before inserting The Wick Stick. If the
wax is beginning to set up around the edges of the jar, then the entire jar container is generally below 160
degrees F and ready to wick.
- If The Wick Stick is set while the wax is still too hot, it will likely pull the wick out when removed after
cooling. This leaves you with a wickless candle and a Wick Stick that has a wick stuck in it. The Wick Stick
can be cleaned out by simply dipping it in hot water to release the wick and wax.
- With certain thinner shorter wicks, putting a bend in the wick before inserting it into The Wick Stick can help
it stay inside while it is inserted into the candle.
- When you order wicks, order the correct length so that it does not need trimmed. Remember, you no longer
need a wick that extends past the top of the container to clip and hold straight.
- Also, when you order wicks, save money by buying the smallest clips available. The Wick Sick does all the
work holding the wick in place as it cools.
- Regular cardboard cartons are perfect for storing The Wick Sticks between use. As they are pulled, they
can just be thrown into the carton. They are quite durable.
- Heat your capping wax a bit hotter so that when capping (topping off), the wax always finds its way down
the hole left by the Wick Stick.
- Wick Sticks can easily be preloaded with wicks before you pour so that setting them goes very fast.
